Welcome The Weekend: “You Make Loving Fun”
Fleetwood Mac in 1977 with Christine McVie on vocals. Born Christine Anne Perfect, she was singer and pianist for Brit blues band Chicken Shack in the late ’60s, then married Fleetwood Mac bassist John McVie joining that band when founding member Peter Green wandered off. The rest of the Mac success story is familiar stuff for folks growing up in the ’70s but even that aging cohort rarely acknowledges McVie’s songwriting—“Over My Head,” “Say You Love Me,” “Don’t Stop”—and disarmingly seductive singing.
